Mazdaspeed GT-C 2000 model FD RX7

Hey dudes!

My first time here in this forums, glad I found it. Anyway, last week I just received my newly imported 2000 model Mazdaspeed RX7 (2+2 seater) from Japan.

Just to let you know that I got it exactly how it looks in the photos (15/01/06). I havent done anything to it or modified it YET! hehe....
It came fully kitted with a Genuine Mazdaspeed Type GT-Concept (Touring kit),

Front, side skirts and rear wing, the rear hasnt been modded..they've badged it with a Mazdaspeed logo..Unique and only few in Australia, mostly imported. Also has lightweight racing Cored Cavity Technology (model T6) japanese wheels >note: their just 17inches, they will be replaced.

And Finally comes with a full Mazdaspeed Coilover racing setup, worth $3000...(anyone know where I can get the key/adjuster for it? didnt come with the car)

Blowing out the power at the rear is a Trust exhaust system. The engine hasnt been touched YET! hehe really clean and soo stock standard, but mannn comparing the power of my RX7 to my ex-MR2, boy this RX7 Hauls ****! Its definetly got more power than my modified MR2 and cant wait to get more out of it.
My old MR2 GT-S also import from Japan:

I have plans for it, but it may not be finished until the end of the year OR even maybe next year as I have another baby boy due in april on the way.
Im staying JDM style, more power to the motor, and putting 20inch deep dish Gold Volk GTC's....thats about it for now.

Beautiful car man. I'm jealous

Re: the keys for the coilovers...yea I recently sold a set of the Mazdaspeed coilovers, as well as some Ohlins, both of which didn't come w/ the keys. But I believe they're universal. You can buy 'em for pretty much any coilover and use 'em. The guy I sold the Ohlins to bought some Apexi keys and they worked perfectly

Please don't put 20" rims on that car . . . . .

Those 17's are beautiful and lightweight BUT in the end it's YOUR car

Daioni - hey thanks...im already registered there aswell, but I find this forum much useful..

FDnewbie - hehe, I was jealous of everyone on the Gen3 threads until I got my own from Japan hehe...thanks!...I'll try and source out other key's for them, it looks like the thread on the MS coilovers have holes, so looks like sumfin needs to be poked through to adjust them.

Thanks for the advice dudes, i'll prolly end up going 19inch Rays G-Games wheels...it just 17's seems small on the car with that MazdaSpeed kit.

Nutbagsen / Azeknights - thanks, thats what im looking for! hehe, the rear does look empty and a rear diffuser with aprons will def. top it off.

Anyone know if 10psi is the correct standard boost that runs on 2000 model FD's??

a touch over - should be about 10.7, iirc.

if you haven't already - take a look at the ecu, make sure that it's stock. If it's running around 10psi, though, it probably is.

hehe 10.7!...kewl. Whats the max boost level can the twins handle??

Whoah...the ECU wasnt hard to find......hmnnn, sure is standard.....Im just thinking, how do wire up stuff to the ecu if the plugs are facing back and very limited access space.

is it true if you inplug the ecu the airbags could pop out?

you don't 'wire up things'. You go and buy a pfc and plug it in.

as for max boost - the question is what is efficient boost. The japanese rule of thumb seems to be 0.9bar (13.1psi) for power/longevity - people do run more than that, though.

start doing some reading - or you'll soon be in trouble - you'll find this will be a far harder car to safely modify - compared to your mr2. Much better bang for buck - but you have to be a lot smarter about it - you just can't up the boost and run - this is particularly true for a later version JDM FD - as the safety buffer is much lower than the older FDs.

"is it true if you inplug the ecu the airbags could pop out?" no

I'm begining to think that big *** bling bling wheels are the preffered choice with the Aussies. Seriously most pics I see of FD's with blingers are form that part of the world.

Nice car bro, really nice car. Congratulations

I ashamed to say it's true.

it's very very sad.

it's a fad that hasn't changed for nearly ten years. Worst of all, they tend to go and buy the biggest, gayest, mirror chrome rims they can find.

search under 5 x114 on 18's for Mazdaspeed. You will see the MS-01's
