This may be of some help to FD owners.

Hows it going? I am new to the Rx7 scene and have been reading and studying a bit over the past week. I came across "Sport Compact Car" which had a 10 issue project Rx7 write up. I went through and compiled the info into one printer friendly document if anyone is interested. It is great info and nice to see the growth and modification of an Fd over a two year peroid. It ended up being 47 pages in length. I am not claiming any of the info as my own nor responsibility for anything stated in the articles. It is simply a cut and paste operation. Also if that is a copyright violation or anything like that please let me know. I am just trying to make the infor I foudn easier for others to learn from. It helps answer a lot of "noob" questions as well. Hope this can be of some help to others on the boards here.

I had to put it in 3 seperate attatchments due to size retrictions.

Also, I couldnt seem to find a working link to Part 1, about purchasing an FD, so the documents start with Part 2. Info on purchasing that I found helpful is here if you are interested.

No problem. The links listed above have the real articles with all the pics. I deleted the pics from the documents I made so it would be more printer friendly. I have read only a few pages, but I am really enjoying it so far and it covers a lot of questions I have about upgrades. Suspension, engine, traction, everything. I figured a lot of people are already familiar with the series, but for those who havent read it, it seems great to me. I am not sure anything about the author, but all the info seems to be in line with other threads and site that I have read. I think the magazine guys usually know their stuff pretty well. It's nice because it isnt "10 steps to a ghetto riced out peice of crap" project. It's all performance and reliablity which is what I like. A lot of articles seem to be really gearing toward appearance and not as much performance as I would like. Anyway, take care everyone and I glad I could help if anyone finds it helpful.

Wouldn't there be copyright issues with hosting the material? At the very least, give credit to SCC for the articles.

I did state in the original post that none of this info is mine. And in case there is any confusion or anything......

All info is written by Shiv Pathak and Sport Compact Car Magazine. I hope reposting it wasnt a copyright infringment or anything. I definately give them credit for everything. I think it's great information and they should be proud of their documentation and work.

quick question....
i saw that they documented a few overheat conditions according to the stock temp gauge
does this mean that they were already working with a doomed engine?

I followed the articles in SCC, if I remember correctly, it ends in a rebuild.

copyright is clearly listed on the original links (see the bottom of the page) - and this is an infringement.

However, great links - great info. I'm sure there's plenty that some will want to argue with, but I can't help feeling that it should be a must read for everyone before that post here.
