making the fans turn on when stopped!!
i'm looking into making the fans come on when the car is in neutral.
so you won't have to worry about turning the fans on..
i need to know if the tranny has a neutral switch? so i can tap into it and have it trigger the fans to come on when the car is in neutral (red light, parked,) then, when you put the car into gear, no more fans..
what do you guys think??
is there a neutral switch/sensor?

Install a Miata 207F thermoswitch or adjustable fan controller.I dont understand why every one hasnt done this allready probably would extent engine life. Why worry about pushing a button 2 minutes before fans will turn on like the fan modd?

hey bud, can i get a part number for the miata thermoswitch? it would make it easier since my mazda dealer would rather work on fords, and to think that mazda are to break down a lot. fords are by far, more unreliable than rx7's

My parking lights trigger my fans...pretty cool huh? The previous owner of the car had them install it. When I'm at neutral and turn on my parking lights, the fans come on for a good 30-40 seconds...if i turn it off and turn it back on they will come on once again.

i think its fair to say that all fd fans turn on when u flip the parking lights on. im pretty sure it has more to do with electrical strain than with what somebody who owned it before you "installed" on the car. but i could be wrong. i know that it works for me, as well as all the fd drivers that i kick it with.

My fans turn on at a lower temp when my parking lights are on.
Scott: If you don't have A/C now, you can simply pull the AC relay and turn on the A/C to turn the fans on. This will trick the ecu into turning the fans on without running any of the A/C related hardware.

Yeah, that´s not something that was installed on your car Parking lights (anything that gives enough electrical load) causes the EL switch in the ECU to turn on the fans a few degrees sooner. Try turning your Blower Fan to 3, same results.

If your car is running too hot, maybe the thermostat should be replaced or you may put some more water into your coolant mix. The thermoswitch is a good place to look into getting it run cooler too.

Yep, it works OK on my '97, but I've also done the standard fan mod, and generally just leave my fans on all the time, plus they run for 10 minutes after I switch off...
Cheers,

I just removed my AC last weekend and would really like to do that mod. Is there a write up on how to do that? Thanks
