I usually rev it up to like 5000rpm in neutral so that the second turbo is spooled up, then I slam it in to "L"
The front wheels are off the ground until I bump shift into "S"
Thanks to my 3.90 posi ala mustang rear end my auto FD launches harder than Big Daddy Don Garlits.
Ditch that boat anchor 5spd and drop in a Mazda R4A-EL Electonically controlled 4spd F1 style automatic!

damn man won't that like kill your tranny, I did to a courtasy car which I had for a week and the tranny was toast when I returned it, I'd suggest using the brake method, better wearing out the brakes than your tranny, especially if its an automatic...

My previous post was of course, a joke.
Neutral drops are certain death to most automatics. On the serous side, launching a auto FD even with the best technique , is more like launchin a 5spd in 2nd gear (or worse)
Powerbraking (which over time will fry your torque converter) helps a little, but you can count on losing the 0-30mph sprint to almost ANY manual with a decent driver.
Once it does start moving its pretty quick, but making up a early 2-3 car jump on a (under 120mpg) street race is next to impossible, regardless of your mod's.
Hope that helps.
