Question Major Problem - Can't Get In Car

Right now my car is sitting in a parking lot and I cannot get in it.
Heres a brief history of the problem. After a year of looking I finally purchased my first FD in late December. Naturally in Canada we experience freezing temperatures (although it is quite nice right now) and after washing the FD it seems the locking mechanism has frozen. Luckily, each time I was able to get into the car by one of the doors and undo the door handle and open the doors manually via the rod.

Unfortunatly after returning to the parking lot the drivers side lock was frozen, so I went to the passenger side door. After fiddling with the lock I opened the door and reached across to flip the drivers side door lock. I then closed the passenger and walked across and tried to open the drivers door. I will not open and now I can't open the passenger door either. After using lock-deicer the key openly moves in each lock, but the doors will not open, seems like the mechanism is stuck, nor can I open the trunk.

Any help on how I can get back into my car would be appreciated.
Thanks

Is the handle coming out? If it's coming out you may have broken the handle... it's a common PITA!

Do you have anything like AAA, someone that canb break into your car?? if not your going to have to brake the handle lever off, grab the the door handle rod inside with some needle nose plier and pull on it...... i would suggest that as a last resort because you will have to buy a new door handle, which you might be doing anyways if its broken internally

No...the other time my door didn't open I was able to undo the panel and push the handle out on the outside and then access the rods. But now the outside handles are tight and I can't get outside. I'm sure it is the locking mechanism that is stuck from washing it in cold weather, although the car sat in my garage after washing.

not sure if this will help and lets just keep this this within th fd community. the stripping around both widows will pull away very easily. this will give you about an inch of space to stick a metal hanger and either unlock or pull on either handle. this will definately open the doors but if you've got a broken locking mechanism your SOL and your gonna have to break something. good luck

Ya the previous times I was able to push down on the mechanism that pushes the rod down and the door opened. Hopefully I can acomplish the same thing by pushing on the rod itself. For some reason I cannot get the hatch to open with my key...this was the first time I tried it though. The stock security system wouldn't have anything to do with this, would it?

I open the hatch with the key all the time, even with the alarm set.

I would in the future keep the locks, hinges, door jambs greased. Try putting a thin layer of petroleum jelly around your door and hatch seals. And avoid washing the car on extremely cold days unless you are headed for heated garage overnight.

Unless it's a factor cut key it will not open the hatch. Ask me how I know

OK after a lot of fiddleing around I was able to open the hatch. I climbed in (very awkward) and undid the outside door handles. Then I preceded to open the door with the rods as I previously had. Except this time they won't open! It's still cold outside and the other times the car had been in my garage, but I didn't think this would matter much. Hopefully after sitting in my garage for a while I can open the doors. Its probable just because the mechanism is cold, right?
