Tapping Primary & Secondary Rails to Accept AN Fittings
In the process in upgrading the fuel system. I’ve searched all over the forums and no luck finding anything that will help. I don’t know if anybody is using the Rotary Performance secondary Rail they have in store but it accepts the stock components such as the FPR, FPD, the banjo, etc. It’s an upgrade secondary Rail if planning on going with 2200cc injectors which I am and already have the Rail with injectors. Also I will be removing the stock FPR & FPD and replacing it with an Aeromotive FPR. I will like to know what exactly have you guys done to the stock rails such as the tapping sizes to accept AN fittings or nipples. I’m sticking with the stock fuel lines and just focusing on what can I do to the rails to complete my fuel system.

For removing the FPD from the primary rail, bottom of the page has the NPT to -AN fitting FD3s Pulsation Damper Elimination
Tapping your secondary is a little more tricky since I believe it is a welded tube construction. HKS makes an adapter for the factory rail that should work on your rail since it uses the OEM FPR. This will give you the -6an outlet. I have moved away from the Aeromotive FPR because of their size. AEM and Fuelab both make smaller units that can be mounted directly on the rail.

I’ve know about the FPD from banzai and yes I will be doing that. I have found an adapter that says it’s for the Subaru, Nissan, and Mazda FDREW on the turbosmart website FPR Adapter Subaru/Nis/Maz and at the bottom of the page it shows the dimensions of the adapter. I’m not too sure of the dimensions if it is suited for the secondary Rail inlet or for the Primary Rail. Any feedback on that will very helpful. Also I found this adapter from another website https://www.aeroflowperformance.com/...ers/af64-2064r which I think is the same thing from turbosmart, but again I need an opinion.

Just this last weekend I tapped my secondary rail to 1/4 NPT so I could fit an Aeromotive FPR. Now I'm super sad I butchered my rail when I could have had an easier solution like this. These adapters are definitely the better way of doing things! Tapping always makes me uneasy.

What exactly went wrong? Did you tapped it straight?

Absolutely nothing went wrong and the car runs great but if I can avoid tapping something, I will. If you do tap it, just make sure everything is clean and that you drill deep enough and really run that tap in as far as you can and you won't have any issues. I guess I could have worded that post a little better lol. I had to remove my secondary injector and vacuum the rail and pick out small pieces to make sure it was clean.
