Go back and read what he said. Barry is telling you that he feels it's ok to run a cat without an airpump.

I don't think it's a good idea to run with no cats on the stock ECU. You'll most likely see some serious boost creep, and enough boost to lean out and pop the motor.

There's only one way you'll know for sure. But remember this: a high flow cat will run you 300 bones. A rebuilt motor will run you over 3000 bones. Seems like an easy decision to me.......

mcfly-4001: Unknown to me (I've only owned the car for 2 months) , I had been driving my 93 FD without a Main-Cat, previous owner put a muff shop mid-pipe on it. BUT......the car did have a Pre-Cat which I just took off to replace with a DP. This is when I found out about the missing Main-Cat.

The car came with an HKS Super Dragger II muff.

In the last 2 months I've put about 2200 mile on the car and had a few runs at WOT. The car never "over boosted" above 10. Things might change after I install the DP. If the DP gets delivered today, I'll know by this evening what my next performance steps may or may not be!!. I'll do a write up then.

I say go with a high flow cat. You're asking for trouble......before I blew my first motor from detonation I didn't think it could happen to me either. I'm just trying to save you money, time, and heartache. I gamble at the craps table, not in the garage.

GoodfellaFD3S: Make sure you keep that bolt carrier well oiled. Are you using iron sights or trijicon scope. Wait till you look through an Elcan. Good Luck. Hurry back to BIG T. Hooorah.
