The "*****" shifter is like that for leverage. It is not for looks. Did you read the thread?

For the steering obviously he did something to be able to make the car turn back around after spinning almost 180 degrees.

He has done almost all of the work himself in his shop. Yea, he is a moron

IC there's some hate on drifting LOL .. drifting is entertainment , but its just as much about car control .. being able to make the car fo what you want in OH **** moments is a huge deal in motorsports.. if you are racing .. and mistakes WILL HAPPEN .. if you know what to do when the car goes out on you it will save you from spinning .. and losing more than just a second on that one lap ..

car control is a huge deal.. not just racing lines and braking points .. you also need to know what to do in the what iffs moments to keep the car out of a wall .. or the grass you may not like it and thats your opinions

But dont disreguard drifting as a motorsport ..

that being said .. I'm an auto-xer and being a better drifter could of helped me out of many many close calls

I have done my share of.drifting. and i will say... big angle low.speed drifts are easier and doesnt give you the heart pounding scaryness of a small angle, high speed, tarmac rally style, cornering .Drifting will never be as cool or as scary as grip driving. At the end of the day... drifters are kinda the posers of the motorsport world. Like monster trucks.

I'd have to agree with Karack on this one.
Drifting is usually reserved for the energy drink guzzling teenagers here in Australia, who have no clue how to do anything mechanical to their cars, so they stick to "maaad wheel "fitment" yo."

As for that thing that "Mad" Mike has put together. Once upon a time it was probably a nice pristine FD in the showroom, with a sales brochure and smelled like a new FD when you opened the door and sat inside it. Look at it now Another one gone, a bit more of the pedigree lost to ignorance, I say.

read the first page and gave up, typical rx7club bashing. this forum is so closed minded. there is more then one way to build an rx7 other then the typical 99 spec, single turbo, polished engine parts etc... this community has gone to **** in the past 4 years and you can really see it in the lack of posts and participants and meets. so many haters.

This is for the dude that said he rather see a few corners of drift instead of grip. Watch this video and tell me you still feel the same.

Its.a wonderful car. But the real deal are those drivers going beyond to out do each other. There is no better feeling than clearing a corner faster than you ever thought possible.

^Agreed. I think its pretty interesting how he messed with the steering. Usually you just hear people messing with the suspensions.

Quit all the bitching, the guy is one of the only ones left keeping the FD in the spot light. No, drifting isn't really my thing but who cares, he's built a bad *** car and we as fellow FD owners should support him. Just think it could be worse, it could have been a hellaflush car

No kidding, I love watching Mad Mike tear up tires and cover the stands in smoke. Its a wicked car, hope to watch it slide in person one day.

^saw the 6 rotor...kinda not so impressed.... 6 rotors..yea.. yea I'd rather see a nice different 2 rotor build. 6 rotors is just like a v-12... cool..but now what? ya know? I think people are ridiculous becuase they bash things that they're not into....when really anyone could bash what they're into. Whos to say that their opinion is any better than anyone elses?

Here's what I feel. Anything rotary i'll support. If it's powering a ford mustang...if it's in an air plane, if it's a 1 rotor shifter cart... I don't care.. I'll support it. If it's a bosozuka hella flush van sitting on 15x15" wheels.. guess what? I'll support it. Because without people using our cars... for whatever the hell they'll use them for... Rotary will dissappear.

^ Couldn't have put it better myself.

Rotary engines are what make our cars so desirable and unique. It was one man's crazy vision of what a true sports car should be, a rotary powered dream. His idea pushed the boundaries and paved the way for great cars like the Cosmo, rx7, 787, etc. So if someone wants to build a tricked out 4 rotor to slide around corners more power to them! Keep the Rotary alive people!!!

I honestly found it less than inspiring. Certainly didn't tempt me to go and buy an old m3, as good cars as they are. Someone mentioned high speed/small angle vs low speed/high angle. Do agree,
