Actually he doesn't have the FD anymore.... It was wrecked pretty bad almost 2 yrs ago.
He is now in an RX8 drift machine. I think he went 3 rotor with that one... not positive since I haven't looked into it in a while...

its like that saying "once you go black you never go back" we should have one for the FD, once you drive an FD you never feel the same in another car, doesn’t rhyme so well but i guess that is why i am not a song writer

Once you drive an FD, driving anything else would be hard to see.

x2. I don't know how to put this strongly enough, that guy is a f!*#ing moron. Seriously, burn it with fire. He's talking about chopping the front, but it's got stock headlights and a bumper glued on. He's talking about chopping the back, but it's stock. He brings up steering geometry and maximum lock, but he's driving the car backwards down the track. Please somebody just kill this guy.

^ You serious?

He cut the front and rear off of the car to fabricate/install a tube frame. Guess he did a good job because you couldnt tell.

The "*****" shifter is like that for leverage. It is not for looks. Did you read the thread?

For the steering obviously he did something to be able to make the car turn back around after spinning almost 180 degrees.

He has done almost all of the work himself in his shop. Yea, he is a moron

was i supposed to read something?

and leverage? c'mon, that's bullshit, people having been driving just fine without ***** shifters sideways for 50+ years.

nope, i think he just likes grabbing something big, long and hard. i shake my head whenever i get a car in that has one and put on a glove to move the cars.

i also bet he's got a pierced tongue as well. do you know what that really was intended for?

It's not the shifter. It's a rear brake with it's own master cylinder. Hence the need for leverage.

well even if not, what's the point of driving backwards? i just think people try to be too unique and start going overboard with stupid ****.

drifting isn't competition as you drive slower than grip driving. now we are going further for "style" points in driving backwards? idiocracy.

i have fun driving sideways at times but even as a kid i never thought about giving it a stupid name like drifting. you're paying to watch someone goof off in a car, you can do the same watching bumper cars at the carnival or do it yourself at the go kart track.

Drifting is about entertainment. Style, smoke and noise. A bit like wrestling.

I would rather go watch drifting all day around 4 or 5 corners than watch a racing car go around the same corners, only to appear again 2 minutes later. A bit like watching a game of tennis where the ***** only go one way.

Karack,

The point of driving backwards is because it is a skill and takes practice and engineering to make a car do something like that. Yes it is obviously not the fastest way around the track. It still requires skill to drive like that, just as it takes skill to drive a car the fastet around the track. Maybe you can compare drifting to freestyle motocross; or mostly anything in the x games. Obviously doing backflips and frontflips on a motorcycle track is not the fastest but it is still a skill and takes talent to do that.

I myself do not particulary like drifting. I do appreciate the driver skill and car setup required to make a car do stuff like that. You do not do it by accident.

How does Red Bull afford to sponsor so much between the drift car, F1, soap box race, air race, ect?
