M2 Stage 3

Hey,

I did the search on the M3 S3 ecua and found very little info on it. I have intake, fmic, d/p, high flow cat, catbac, and msd ignition. Will an non-cali M2 S3 work with a Cali car? And will it safely run without out the airpump? What octane is the M2 tuned for?

Thanks, Jay

Don't know the answer to the question of a non-CA M2 S3 ECU running a CA car, but don't recall that there was a difference. Many years ago, I ran the M2 ECU with:
M2 (ASP) medium ic
M2 CAI
dp
hi-flo cat with air pump
RB catback
Crane Hi-6
91 octane CA gas

Why would you not run the air pump if you have a hi-flo cat? The cat needs the air to do its job.

The M2 ecu will be fine with those mods up to 12-13 psi. A non-Cali ecu in a Cali car may trip the CEL, as it won't run the EGR. The M2 chip is tuned for 91 octane.

Yes, I'm looking to get a M2S3 for my car unitil I can get my PFC tuned. My PFC currently has a map for single running 550/1300 injectors.

My concers is with the tuning of these M2 ECUs. M2 has been out of business for sometime now and most M2 ECU are tuned a few years ago when we still had 92 octane. Plus I don't want to see any check engine lights on my dash. How can I tell if the ECU is for Cali car? Will it have the same marking as my stock ECU? I'm not running an airpump now, will that be a problem with the M2 S3?

Who did the ECUs for M2, G-Force? Whoever, try to find that out, and contact them.

No more of a problem than it would be for a stock ecu -- rough idle, etc. Why aren't you running an air pump? You need to to pass smog.

The reason for not using the airpump is that my harness/wire were soo dried out that it broke off. I tried to fix it but no signal to airpump to triger it on. Yes, I just pass my Cali smog by hard wiring it to the battery.

I ran an M2 Stage 3 ECU with the sames mods that you listed at 13-14 PSI with no issues.

The Cali vs non Cali car thing might be an issue.

So, the M2S3 Cali version will have the same numbering as a stock '93 ECU right?
