M2 intake?

Does anyone know where I can buy an M2 intake. RX-7 Store is fresh out, and they don't know when or if they'll get any more. I'd love to find someone who has one of these in stock.

Thanks,

I tried that already. When you click on "buy", you get a list of authorized dealers, so I assumed they didn't sell direct. Do they sell direct?

Thanks,
Rusty

Seems like M2 is having difficulties right now. Your best bet would be to watch the parts fs section and buy a used one from someone.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've heard this mentioned. Perhaps it would be best to pick another intake.

Thanks,
Rusty

If the M2 intake is what you like, you'll be better off waiting until you can get it. I know it can seem like a pain, but getting exactly what you want will make you happier in the end.

I did something similar when ordering my intake. The Blitz was on backorder (as well as Apexi), so I purchased the HKS. Not that I'm not satified with it, but I now wish I would have waited those extra 2-3 weeks for the Blitz. Having exactly what you want on the car can make you feel so much better about it.

Yes it does! I can tell you I wouldn't be happier with any other intake then my M2 cf. Call M2 directly instead of ordering online.

FWIW, Rotary Extreme has an M2-style cold air intake made of all aluminum. It's on back-order though. The RE CAI has beads welded on the filter tubes, so the filters don't fall off, like they apparently do with the original M2 box (which doesn't have the beads welded on the filter tubes).

Here's pic of the Rotary Extreme CAI http://www.rotaryextreme.com/coldair.html

Go mwith the M2 Intake, wait or not, its pure gold under the hood. I am surprised nobody has stole their design and ran with it yet, like a piece of art.

It's alive!!!

Mahjik and GsrSol- I think you're right, and I should get what I really want, which is an excellent aftermarket cold air box.

SleepR1- that airbox looks nice, but where the heck did you find that link? Any idea how much they are?

jdhuegel1- You mean "lack of pistons dot com" I'll look, thanks.

Finally ski, can you email me some better pictures of the rx7-fashion box? Does it bolt right up and use the same pipes as stock?

Thanks,
Rusty

Truth be told, I'd rather have aluminum than carbon fiber. That Rotary Extreme box looks great!

Thanks,

I'm not familiar with the aluminum M2. Did they make this before they went to CF? Is it exactly like the CF version? How old is it, and how many miles on the filters? Can you send any pics? Feel free to reply by email if you want.

Thanks,
Rusty

I have a brand new CF M2 intake that you can take off my hands. Make me an offer.

M2's difficulties arise from being a small company and having a large demand for their parts/services. Brian has to run a business and travel for racing. They may be backed up but be patient and you will receive what you want.

Thanks for the offer, but the more I think about it, the more I prefer aluminum. I've also just done some searching to find that RX7Fashion is considered one of the better intakes. I think I'll order one right now

Thanks to everyone who posted comments!

Cheers,
