Lowering emissions.

I am selling m y car right now, however, the potential buyer needs the car to pass Maryland emissions tests. He told me that adding lantern oil to the gas tank would help lower emissions, just for when the testing is done. Is there anything else I can do to help lower emissions? Thanks

Maybe it's just me, but if you're in TX and selling it...why waste your time trying to get it to pass in another state? That's his issue.

I don't think I'd put that in my tank. The usual thing is denatured alcohol.

Are you running any sort of a cat? It would be good to know your current mods.

Maybe it is his issue, but he wants to know if the car will pass or not before buying it. I am not sticking anything in my car unless some people have some info on it. Are you sure the alcohol will work? If so then thanks for the info.

Stay off the boost, of course. Reason I say anything about the issue is that the standards are probably different in TX than in MD. They might be higher so even if you pass, he may not up there.

Just saying...
