I have done the non-seq mod on my car and the motor has about 120,000 miles on the motor and i want to try and keep the engine alife for as long as i can , so i removed the pills from the wastegate and have no boost controler on there.

So in other words the wastegate is getting the boost pressure at the same pressure and speed as the intake is.

I have also ported the wastegate to the largest size i can make it.

You guys think this will keep my boost level low enuff.

I have Apexi Intake and Mid-pipe and Cat-back. I will be removing the mid-pipe and installing a cat soon, but for now i want to keep the boost as low as i can have it. Not worried about super hp, going to rebuild another engine and get it ready for this car.

How do you define low enough? Usually when the wastegate is fed full boost pressure it equalizes around 7-8psi, but it may be lower yet since your wastegate is ported.

In any case, put a boost gauge on and see what the result is. If you want to improve engine life to the maximum, I suppose no boost at all is better. The easiest safe way to do that is to purposely drive nice and easy.

With a good port job on the wastegate and the pills out the car should sit right at 8 psi without any issues. If you want to go lower than that you'll have to mess with the wastegate and either hang it partially open so it opens further than stock or find a new actuator that will replace the OE unit. I doubt your midpipe will make much difference with that much done to reduce boost.

Get a boost gauge. You are only guessing without one. With your mods, you may be boosting a lot higher than you think.

all this toiling can be avoided if you just buy a boost gauge and make sure you don't boost unless you absolutely have to

This is the kind of info i wanted, i have a boost gauge and i have only boosted to about 5psi at the max right now. I am trying to re-break in the motor before i do any major boosting, but when i do i dont want to go higher than 8 or 9
