Low oil Pressure

Hello.

I did an oil change today. Put in about 4L of GTX 10w40 and Mazda oil filter. Seeing lower pressure than before. Was sitting at 200 kpa on idle now down to under 180. Dfei gauges. No OMP.

Is that a little low and is it any harm. I could change the Dfei warning temperature or put in a heavier oil.

I wouldn't worry about it. Probably just the difference between clean and dirty oil. From what I understand, oil filters affect oil pressure in some kind of way or something too. It's fine

Different viscosity rating and different temperature both influence pressure readings. The sender, which is located just below the filter pedestal is notorious too. The spade connector can get dirty causing goofy readings with the weak signal at idle. IIRC the Factory Service Manual says minimum of 50 psi at 3k rpm on our NADM. Not sure what that is in Kpa.

Its on a defi gauge. Had he been going off the factory gauge, this wouldn't have been a discussion lol

Missed that…but Ok, as long as he’s seeing minimum at 3k rpm he should be good…

Might actually be an hot idle speed issue. All running to spec 3k pressure etc and after an oil change to 20w50 no pressure warnings but now the idle drops and it stalls. Very strange the timing of all these things. I’m having some electrical issues today as well that weren’t there before I think it’s unrelated though.

If May all be related to a dodgy connector for the tps sensor directly over the oil filter.
