Help: Smoke From New O2 Sensor, Oil Pressure Low at Low RPMs

Thanks for checking out the thread. I've done some searching but have found no results, was hoping you guys could help.

I just recently do a 60k tune up for my 88 TII that has the original motor. This morning I finally got the chance to start it up and the warming up process seemed fine, reved up to 3k, then slowly came down. I probably have to adjust the idle and check timing still, but i noticed two things before I shut the engine off.

1. there was smoke coming from the new o2 sensor.
2. my oil pressure got really low as the rpms began to go down to 1200-1500 rpms. from the stock gauge it was maybe 2 or 3 mm from the 0 mark.

not sure if all of this is normal. trying to get the car finally going again after the tune up. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

The smoke from the new sensor was just factory oil and anti-seize burning off. Totally normal.

As for the oil pressure, the stock senders are old and they fail. Verify that you have oil pressure with an aftermarket gauge.
