low mileage 3rd gen all orig????
So, I'm looking for a very low mileage 3rd gen, all original with no mods...looking like it has never been driven...Are they out there? Can they be found? I know it will be expensive, but I don't know enough about the car to buy a rougher one and try to restore it.

IMO, going about buying an FD this way is best. These cars are out there, they can be found, *will* cost you top dollar and be prepared to wait because they don't come up for sale very often. I recently picked up a near mint '94 w/ 20K original for $19K a few weeks ago, and had been looking for at least 8 months. The previous owners were an older couple with a Porsche 911 Turbo, a Ferrari, Land Rover, and Mercedes in the garage so these people had the means to take care of it and it shows. Car still smells new inside and they had all documentation since new. I paid a couple grand over blue book but IMO it was well worth it. The car is a time capsule and you will have look far and wide to find another. If you're interested, a forum member has a '93 Silverstone Touring for sale. It has 13K original and he's asking $20K.

i would suggest researching the car first. It might not be the best idea to purchase one for too much money with low miles. If you dont know much about them, you may end up not maintaining the car properly and ruining one of the few perfect examples of 3rd gen rx7s we have left. But if you got the money, you can do whatever the hell you want. I think i beg for everyone on the forum that you just take care of it.

I have owned 4 rotary engined vehicles, just never the 13bTT. I have heard so many horror stories about the turbo setup/vacuum line issue that I'm just scared to buy a higher mileage car. ON the flipside, I am tempted to resurrect a dead or dying FD, but you guys would REALLY have to help me out!

3) 1990 RX& GXL
4) 1993 Miata w/13b turbo from 90 RX7

The resurrection has been done. Best way to do that is to find one with the best possible interior and exterior, shot engine. Then the engine can be redone to whatever level of modification you want. At the very least you'll be able to put all the reliability mods in at one time and have a gorgeous, reliable, pristine FD.
I'll bet it's easier/cheaper/better to do this than to pay more for one with a perfect original engine and hope the hoses, radiator, and overflow tank don't bust on you.

Dgeesaman is correct. Some of those modifications are done with good reason. I am glad that the prior owner of my R-1 had the good sense to install a downpipe as the precat is not good. I immediately had all the of the vac and boost lines r & r with silicone lines. Even if I bought a 10000 mile perfect example I would do these mods (plus a few others). I would delete the AST tank as well. My point is, I wouldn't disregard a lightly modded car as long as it meets the rest of your needs.
