low boost readings, suspect APEXi gauge

Just installed the APEXi boost gauge that came with my car. During the boost test the damn thing doesn't even climb over 0 BAR! And I've definitely got boost.

12 volt and backlight are hooked up fine, and the rest of the installation for a boost gauge seems pretty simple (just stick the hose on the nipple next to the BOV, right?). What do you think, bad gauge, bad electronic sensor, bad hose?
