Loud engine bay
drove into work today, after about five miles of casual driving my engine bay sounded like i was going 80. RPM's were normal, pumped the pedal thinking maybe it was hung up on something and still existed. It happened to me once before driving really hard down the 101 (highway) but just tapping the gas made it go away. I pulled over cracked the hood and it was LOUD, seemed like the whole engine bay was rumbling/shaking, nothing looked out of place. Turned the car off then immediately back on and engine bay sound was back to normal and it didn't seem to be rumbling or shaking anymore. it wasn't the fans even though i couldn't spot them since i have a v-mount and would have had to lift the car to take a look, but after the car was back on i could hear the fans casually going and turned on the override A/C fans and could hear them kick in.
Oil pressure, water temp, everything normal. I've owned the car 25 years and this is the 2nd time this has done this to me in my last few outings (my FD isn't a daily driver).
Any ideas would be helpful, i'll take a look after work.
Thanks in advance

nevermind, found the culprit, had some road debris that i must have picked up a few trips ago and had enough wiggle room to clip my fan blades. i guess it was the fans but only during the right time.
please close the thread.
