lots of smoke!, oil driping out of downpipe!

ohh man what a nightmare, long story short. the origional turbos were bad. I have installed 2 different sets to no avail! the car billows grey oily smoke, so bad oil is driping out of hte downpipe....

I have custom welded up an old RB header so that it bolts to the stock main cat for test purposes( to verify its the turbos and not the oil control rings). drove it around for a few hrs with zero smoke!. its just a bit loud... heh.. I have also tested with the oil cap off to make sure its not pressurizing the oil pan and causing the oil to blow past the turbos....

im fairly new to 3rd gens is there anything else that could cause them to blow so much oil besides the turbos just being worn out?

is there some kind of restrictor in the oil feed that could be missing? or what?

or have i had bad luck getting garbage sets of used twins...

Sounds like Turbos. Get a rebuild. Or some BNR's. Or hell with the twin set-up and hail to the single.

well on this set it looks like only the front turbo was blowing a ton of oil, its dry around the rear.... the only positive to this is i am becomign a pro at installing and removing the turbos.

man ive had real aweful looking fc turbos and none of them ever have had the oil seals just let go on em....

Yeah I've nuked a turbo or two and I've never actually gotten oil to come out of the downpipe LOL.

Just be careful not to drain all the oil out through the turbos. Ask me how I know.

...just go single if you can.

You can piece together a turbo kit for cheap on the forums if you are on a budget.
