Unhappy lots of smoke

Just started my 7 after it sitting for about three weeks and the smoke just poured out the pipe. I know they smoke alittle but is this normal? Also, has anyone else had an oil leak? It seems to be leaking from the oil pan.

GOOFYROTOR,

Get your car checked out. None of us here with properly prepped cars have ANY oil leaks from the engine. The only thing that should ever leak that is part of a normal wear process are the turbos - and even then, leaking is not something to let hang around forever.

WELP clayne,

I guess ur one of the FEW that rebuilds
the Engine every 20,000 miles. Its always CLEAN & SPOTLESS!
For properly prepped cars, u must keep it running in TOP shape and clean.......CORRECT?
And............ The ONLY thing that should ever
leak are the TURBOS? GOOD ONE!!!

clayne is right. You should't have oil leaking (or any fluid leaking). He doesn't mean that leaks won't ever develop, but that if there is a leak, there is a problem that can and should be fixed.

Prepped cars? Yes, my car does see track action and they will NOT let your car on the track with fluids leaking.

However, the car did not come from the factory leaking oil or other fluids on the ground. If you have any leak of any fluid, it should be fixed as being part of "proper maintenance".

I dont care if ur car sees track action! OIL LEAK IS AN OIL LEAK! it doesnt have to drip to the ground! it can be an small wet stain.
and ur saying that u have NO oil leak at all? IMPOSSIBLE!
And the TURBOS ARENT the only part that LEAKS!

That's correct, it doesn't have to hit the ground and it's not impossible.

I never said that the turbos are the only part that leaks oil.

I said he was right that the car shouldn't leak, and it shouldn't. If it does, the leak should be fixed.

I read what he said, and you need to read (and understand) what he said.

Normal wear on the car shouldn't not generate leaks. Leaks from the engine is typically from a failure (seal, gasket, or other). The turbos will eventually wear from use and begin leaking, i.e. from "normal wear".

So, what he is saying is that's the only place you should expect an oil leak.

Understand?

WRONG! normal wear does generate oil leaks!
leaks from engine NOT typically from FAILURE!
its due to NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR!
u should learn what WEAR AND TEAR DOES TO THINGS!

Wrong?

You can debate this all you want, but "wear and tear" has different definitions to different people.

If it's only been sitting a few months (few months means less than 5 months to me) since the rebuild, just start it up and take it for a nice drive. If you want to get ****, you could change the oil & flush the coolant but I wouldn't worry about it too much.
