Loss of power after rev limiter in 1st
I've had a problem this entire autox season - tho' I didn't realize it - whenever I run up to the rev limiter in 1st. When I wind it tight to start the course and then shift to 2nd the car feels lethargic around the rest of the course, just not all there. But the times I've short shifted into 2nd at the beginning there's plenty of torque, I can actually spin the inside rear wheel on exits if I'm not carefull. All season I thought it was just the IC heat soaking - even though I wet it down between runs - and didn't put the two together until this weekend. Since it was only about 50 degrees outside I figured it couldn't be the IC so on my last run I tried short shifting, and sure enough she went like a scared cat soon as I got into 2nd. The previous five runs I'd run up to the rev limiter after the start and quickly shift into 2nd.
If it were a boost leak, wouldn't it be consistent, not off and on like this? Could the rev limiter be affecting the ECU someway. I'll be digging under the hood this winter, but anybody have any ideas or similar experiences. It's starting to tick me off because I was only .400 off the best Z06's time and if I'd been short shifting for all my runs I think I could have caught him (yeah, sure.)

Hmm, that's a tough one. I dunno if the ECU would be trying to go into some sort of limp mode or something weird - that's just oddball. Did you see what kind of boost you were running when it was running slow?

Wastegate or BOV stuck open ? I had sorta the same problem boosted great in one gear and shifted and it would lack power I found out it was the vacuum line from my wastegate =\ . I dunno it was weird.

I agree on the ECU idea, I think it is getting into a 'limp' mode once you nail the limiter and it doesnt want to get out of it. In order to get your car running normally again do you have to shut it off and start it back up?
If you can get your hands on another ECU to try I would suggest it only to see if yours is the culprit.

No boost gauge in the car, but I have a tester boost/vacuum gauge that I'll put on and see what's up. Like I said, it isn't constant, just when I nail it in 1st. Thanks for the imput. The Turbo Control Actuator Solenoids are new - less than 2000 miles, as are all the check valves since I replaced them last winter.
