Finally fixed my over cooling problem..Pics

I dont know if you guys know but when the v-mount was installed my car was running too cold sometimes all the way down to 68c and that was no good for the car, I could not even boost at all...Finally had some time today to replaced my t-stat which I bought from Ray at malloy...he is a great guy..after the install my car now stays at 84c Thank god...

As I suspected the t-stat was drilled out with an added 6 holes, so it was running like open all the time

I also went ahead and plugged in the datalogit..now all I have to do is learn how to tune..

took out IC

datalogit and t-stat

old t-stat on the car

new and old t-stat

Battle scars...lol..

Were you trying to solve heat problems with the holes? Took for ever just to halve *** warm up didnt it! lol Thats an old trick in the repair buisness. Not that many holes though.. Usually just one to let the air out. Congrads on the repairs... Now go hit some BOOST!!!!

I did not know that those holes where there, I bought the car that way and the previous owner did not know it too..

I just thought that it had that because of the temps of the car

Good work.

Having said that, learning to tune on an FD is expensive as hell. The blown motors add up quickly. Steep learning curve, too steep for me to mess with right now. It's the only thing I tab someone else for.....my 2 cents

That is what I will probably be doing since I dont want to blow up the car...but I will try to learn while it is being tuned...

mine does as well. I have removed my complete a/c system (among other things) and have a smic, so my rad is completely exposed. In this cold NJ weather, it takes a long *** time to get my temps up to like 83.
