losing coolant through oil

What causes this?

I've started to lose about 1/2 pint of coolant. It is going into my oil. My oil filler neck is covered in brownish gunk.

Later...Scott

6500 miles on new engine(not reman).

Easy startup, common blueish smoke, never overheated, no coolant smell from the tailpipe.

It runs rich but not excessive....can smell from the tailpipe though.

I have a fluidyne rad and the silicone coolant seals. Coolant has been at a perfect level until I noticed it at my parents house.

Thanks...Scott

Pressure test the cooling system to be sure. When my engine went (bad coolant o-ring), it held pressure for about 5 minutes, then slowly declined until 45 minutes later when it was at 0.

The pressure test tells all...

yeah I would pressure test it....

I had slight brown gunk in my oil filler neck..but it smelt like gas...which is pretty normal.
