HELP!!! What should I do????
Alright I have decided on 1993- up twin turbo rotary obviously. I have 25,000 dollars right now I found one for 15,000 in texas that is stock with over 75k miles on it. Good condition. What should I do first I want to put the 10,000 dollars right into it. What are the mods I should do especially ones to push for reliability i.e. radiator, intercoller, hoses, etc.... also how much is an engine rebuild?
I am looking for an all around car, I know the handling is amazing on this car. I want good low end and top end. I am a crazy bastard that goes 160mph when I get the chance and goes 0-60 in 4 seconds from stoplight to stoplight (Currently have 2005 modded WRX). I am an idiot I know!!! But I want to know what is gonna make me competitive against a MKIV supra TT, or should I just buy one of those. I know the tranny on an FD is good up to 600 horsepower and with an added rotor the numbers are high for the engine as far as reliability. The supra's bottom end handles around 900hp stock and the 6-speed handles anything you throw at it. Both are beautiful cars, I believe in the RX-7 due to price differences. I always believe in getting an RX-7 for 10,000 dollars cheaper I will throw that money that I would have spent on the supra into the REX and be a very competitive street car. Some extra notes: This car will be used as a weekend driver and fun car not near a daily driver. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks guys!!

search 'reliability mods' or look in the FAQ.
good budget, everything you need to know can be found using the search.
75k miles at stock? first reliability mod would be a teardown IMO.

So I'm trying to figure out here: you want a fast car that can pull like hell and be reliable, and you're debating between a Supra at $25k, or an FD at $15k + $10k in mods? Frankly, the FD will always be behind in this duel. Unless you're racing in a sanctioned drag event, the FD is not a great dragster or power machine. While the light weight gives an FD some advantage to offset the lesser power, it's just not a muscle car.
As for adding a rotor, well, that's not a simple thing. Check out the discussions in the 3-rotor forum and do some reading rather than posting - you want to get a real good understanding of the 3-rotor world before discussing it as part of your plans. It won't fit in that 10k.

being screwed with by Supras? not that common... some of the big power FD's that lurk around these forums play with much bigger fish than those.
you're not likely to get a 20b in there for 10k (correct me if i am wrong) but you could certainly pull the engine, refresh parts and then put a decent single turbo on it with aftermarket computer and exhaust etc.
you should be able to eat the Supra alive with a 10k budget... but don't expect 600hp to be nessecary.

i know a guy who can get a 20b complete(manifolds and turbos) with harness and ECU for $1600 but thats if you know the guy, he normally sells to rich guys who want the 20b and are willing to pay (with vaseline if you know my dirft) starting around $3k and he buys them in bulk when he can at a price of $800 for each and oders about 10-15 at a time. im not talkin s*P*it hes the only person i know who can get any rotary part for less cause he gives me the "since you know the people i hang with and i see you come to my spanish food store" discount. but yeah 10k is somewhat possible for a 20b swap if your not going to rebuild it though

hey, urban! buy my car from me, will you? It has over $30k in just mods. It is fully built to put down well over 650hp without breaking anything. Engine, turbo and trans are brand new. Entire electrical and fuel system is brand new. I just put $8k into the fuel and electrical. The current turbo (T-61 BB Q)will limit you to about 500 hp, and a ten sec 1/4. The car is in Texas right now at MZM Performance in Austin. Bankruptcy judge forces sale. I'll take $25k for it.

I have a pristine, showroom condition '93 CYM RX-7 w/19k miles on the clock that is 100% stock and flawless inside and out that you can have for the right price. I will guarantee it is the last of its kind and you could be the proud new owner for a reasonable price ;-)
