Limp mode

The car is going into limp mode, loss of power but there is no check engine light coming on. Any ideas? If I disconect the battery and re-conet it the cars is fine again from a few weeks. I am under the suspicion the the omp might be taking a crap.

The OMP will through a code when/if it starts having a problem. Have you tried pulling codes to see if anything is stored?

There are codes which get stored but do not cause the light to come on.

quick update. The car is fine now. After thinking about the problem with the car and talking to my friend/mechanic we decided to check the map sensor. I didn't even get to the map sensor as I opened the hood and looked at the boost sensor and the hose was off. Put it back in and the problem went away. Just wanted to give a quick update.

Good deal. Glad it was something simple. You might go ahead and zip-tie the hose to make sure it doesn't fall off again (or replace the vacuum line with a new line).

Make sure to check/test the solenoids and check valves while you are doing the job. Many people have thought that simply replacing their vacuum lines would cure their problem, however their problem was something other than a vacuum line.
