pulling off the hose on the *boost* sensor, will cause you car to stay under 5 psi

Guess it depends on the code, because when my OMP went out my car would bog as soon as I got to 5in/mg. It would basicaly refuse to gointo boost at all.

try disconnecting the battery and holding down the brake for 15-20 sec.

This is exactly what happen to mine couldnt go over 3k.
Then I did the battery off and hold brake and fixed it.

did you guys know that the word kangaroo originates from Australia? When the pioneers first made contact with the natives there they asked what those animals were jumping around, and the natives said "kangaroo" which means "we dont know" in their language. Interesting right? ROFL

this reboots the ECU correct? I'm pushing about 5~8 psi of boost so I'm assuming I'm one of the victims of LIMP mode as well? I also did a vacuum hose job few weeks ago as well as coolant hose job yet I feel as though I'm getting a boost leak. Any harm from doing this reset if it isn't the LIMP mode?

tiger18,
check the wires going to it first, somehow mine just got clipped by the main pulley cutting the red wire. Tape and a connector solved my prob.

Swat81,
Nah no harm in doing it....and very interesting fact, thanks, but how do Aboriginees say "I don't know"?

My limp mode experience is that the car "kangaroos" when I push on the accelerator too far. Does it at any RPMs, not limited to 3k and higher, and pretty much forces me to drive slow, which I assume is the intended purpose.

it boggs for me when I aceelerate hard so I guess I am in LIMP mode and didn't realize it, I will try resetting the ECU since I haven't done those since some minor mods.
