its gona be the gen 3 of course but ive seen a few different versions of it around and was after some advice.

i really like the black one with the red leather.......is there a special name for that one?

id like to know as much possible about the 7's really, any info would be awesome.

i just cant take the n/a route anymore, its gota be turbo power, and over here theres not many rx7's about so its definatly the next car to buy.

there aren't any limited edition RX-7's, there are just the base, touring, R1/R2 models. Do a search on those and you'll see what to look for

so how come some of them are with leather/red leather/cloth?

is that just the option when purchasing?

ive seen things like R1/R2, RB, type R, RS-R (Rare Ltd Spec), RS-S, Bathurst X etc etc

have a look: http://www.car-imports.com/stock/det...category=RX-7:

Two places to look for all the info you can want:
http://www.rx7.org/Robinette/
http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/index.html

In the UK, you may be able to get your hands on some cars we did not get here in the US. As noted, there were basically three cars we got, Base, Touring, R1/R2. Thise sites will give you more info on these. All these had the same 255 hp twin-turbo engine; suspensions and options were different.

In Japan, and perhaps exported to other RHD countries, were limited edition cars as you note. Many of these came with a 280 hp engine and other options that we never saw.

Hi Ray,
There are a few rx7's that had red leather interior between 91-93 it was called the type x in Japan available in both manual or auto. Late 93 they changed the name to touring x which was only available in auto.
95-97 they made a limited edition model which was called bathurst x which also had red leather. These were the only models to have red leather interior.
I have posted a long mail somewhere on www.mazdarotaryclub.com with the different specs available and the difference between the specs. Have a browse around on that forum. If you can't find it I shall dig around and have a look for you.
The best rx7 to go for depends on what you want the touring x the earlier model call ed the type x was the top of the range as for luxury/accessories e.g sunroof leather seats climate control bose hifi cruise control etc.
On the otehr end of the scale was the type rz which has always been the top of the range rx7 for performance. The type rz is very nice and also very expensive it holds it's price very well in Japan. All the models are good though, there are slight differences between them all.

how much is a type RZ... can you import one here in the STATES...??? that thing must have kicked some ***... IN GRAND TURISMO 2 playstion game... it had a GT-C model and of course a LIMITED EDITION GT-C... then there's the A-SPEC and the LIMITED EDITION A-SPEC... in the game it had the RZ too, but not as fast as the LIMITED EDITION GT-C... it had 6 speed in the game...

I have a 94 PEP (popular equipment package) model. It has leather, sunroof, cruise control.

It doesn't have some of the stuff from the touring model: Bose system, fog lights, rear wiper. No spoiler either.

The Gt-C was the GT-Concept by Mazdaspeed. Which I believe was the heavily modified version of the Rx-7.
