LIM removal
LIM removal
Ok, I have searced, and didn't get the answer I was hoping for. So, now I am just being obstinate and asking anyway.
I fear that I have a LIM gasket leak and need to replace the gasket. Is there any possible way to get to it without removing the turbos? I just replaced the turbos a month ago, and I dread that job again. It sucks.
Thanks,

I doubt you'll have enough access to all the bolts for the LIM with the turbos in place. You may be able to get lucky with a few of them, but at least 2 or 3 of them seem impossible with the stock turbos installed.
Yea, I knew that's what you were going to say. But, there was this little voice inside me saying, maybe, just maybe you won't have to do that again. God, that is a job removing those damn things.
I guess the other question is, is there any way to absolutely determine if the lower gasket is leaking?
I have hooked up a boost leak finder, and the intake system will not hold air. I can hear it leaking down in there somewhere, and I have checked all the usual suspects.

If it's really bad you might see some smoke but if not maybe you can shine a light around it and look for some black exhaust marks.
