Is this fuel pump suitable for my application?

Basically, I was advised to buy a sard 280l/h pump.
I am running stock twins sequentially @ 0.9bar, have a fpr etc
I plan to go single turbo, prob a GT30r or GT40r...looking for 400-450whp (Not decided yet), but not for at least 8 months.
If I stick this in, will it cause issues? I'm told by a reliable source its too big, but I want to know if I do stick it in...Will it be a problem? Should I sell it and buy a Bosch 044?
I use the car 3-4 times a week, no long journeys. Don't beat on it too much at the moment, just normal road driving.

Cheers in advance

Ceylon.

I've got a 255lh walbro with my GT35R setup making around 400hp and its plenty, im not 100% sure but i think you can never have a 'too big' fuel pump, you should get a fuel press. regulator too to control press. better.

Also, there's a huge difference between a GT30 and 40, one pretty big, the other is really pretty small.

Cheers
That was my line of thinking...I just wanted confirmation before fitting it. I have a fpr to fit at the same time, which has a gauge.
Regarding turbo types...I need to do a lot of forum reading to decide, but I guess I have 8 months to catch up on that .

I was going to fit it while still using the twins, as I'm reaching early-mid 90s on the induty (which is pretty much fully open I'm told?). So the extra fuel pressure would prob help with that a bit. I'm driving it gently for this reason at the moment.

Cheers

No I do not as yet.
But if I'm going to open it up & all that I would rather put it all in & sorted in one go if possible , As I have all the parts. Just wanted to check prior to fitting it incase there is anything else I should be aware of.

Cheers

The walbro should be enough with a rewire.

I have that Sard pump. If you already have it just install it, you can't have too big a pump, unless you have the stock regulator.

Oops i put walbro in my post above. Forgot we were talking about a sard, which would flow even more then a walbro. So yeah you should be fine with a rewire. What injector setup do you have? If duty cycle is in the 90's it sounds like stock injectors?

PFC base map at the moment (yeah I know...Its only temp..)
When I get this pump & fpr in, I will take her in for a tune. I'm thinking either Atomic Rex, or this guy called Greg from Bristol...Hes supposed to be good. Any recommendations?

& yes Dudemaaanownsanrx7 I still have stock injectors.

I'd say it depends on where you're out of. I always drove from my place in St. Neots (about 30 min west of Cambridge) on the A1, down to Portsmouth and Re:worx for mapping or big jobs.

Are you on FDUK.org? if not then you really should make an account there.

I'm a loyal Re:worx man myself, but I've heard nothing but good things about Pip at WGT, Dragon Performance always turns out nice maps, Carl at Haywood also has a good rep. Mark (Blitzboy) is also meant to be quiet reliable when it comes to mapping a PFC.

You may want to put more thought and (local) research into the background of who you're going to let map your car, before you let them map it =) (I mean no disrespect towards Atomic Rex in the slightest with that statement, just a word of general advice)

I live near bristol in the south west.
I'm not a member of FDUK - I will check it out, thanks
I've been to dragon performance before, would never take my car there again tbh (They setup my car to explode....Overboosting to 1.3bar on stock twins with standard fuel system lol). I generally just research up what needs doing and do all the work on the car myself...But for tuning I would like to take it somewhere reputable. I know 3 guys who have used Greg & have got good results with no issues...So I think I will give him a try

Cheers for the advice.

That does NOT sound right... Do you mean your car was spiking to 1.3, or they tried to map it to 1.3? What were the mods at the time, were they aware of them? Did you inform them of your goals and limitations? Did you bring your concern to their attention after the fact? If so, what was their reaction?

I honestly have a hard time believing something like that. I've not dealt with them personally (aside from purchasing bits and bobs, which arrived well packaged and VERY fast) but I cannot believe they would operate in this manner while maintaining such a good reputation in the community.

I would say that is something you should have DEFINITELY taken up with them at the time to reach a mutually beneficial resolution.

It was relatively soon after I had brought the car, So I was'nt confident with taking it apart myself like I am now. So I took it into them with a problem that I had diagnosed (with this forums help) to be the coil. They said that it would'nt be a coil problem. They suggested it was my cat converter, so replaced it with a midpipe....airpump delete..etc..to no avail...Then new plugs...New fuel filter (needed doing anyway really)..Eventually they changed the coil like I had asked and it cured the problem. He then did a few runs in my car with the midpipe, claiming it to be boosting ok. Which obviously it was not.
I'm sure it was just a one off...But as you can imagion....This put me off dragon performance

I then got a friend who has tuned quite a lot of cars with pfcs to have a quick look at it. He set the boost a 0.9bar and it seems to hold to that fine....No creep etc, it may be the wastegate was ported by the previous owner. I do not know as I hav'nt had reason to pull the turbos off as yet. The only thing I notice is that the induty gets higher than in safe. So I was going to fit this pump & FPR and get a decent tune
