lim ceramic coating

hey guys got a quick question, I ceramic coated my LIM and was wondering, I no longer need to buy a LIM heatshield right? I was about to order it but now that I think of it I don't believe its necessary.

here is what I mean by the LIM heatshield

I would think its not a question of needing it, but do you want an additional layer/heat shield to further aid in blocking radiant heat.

Depending on your other mods and income, its probably not worth it since you have it ceramic coated. I was thinking about this product too and decided it was too expensive and put heat reflective tape covering it to block radiant heat. It was a big pain in the *** but at least it saved me money and I think helps at least a little.

I have both my upper and lower manifolds ceramic coated. I did it more for looks than heat protection as the ceramic coating is used to prevent heat from being released vs heat penetrating into the manifolds. It is often used on exhaust manifolds and exhaust systems. All the heat in the lower manifold area comes from the turbo/exhaust manifold so any type of heat shield you can add between the two to prevent it from getting to the lower manifold will always help. I personally also have a turbo blanket ..

I disagree that ceramic coating are meant to hold vs expel heat. The coating is a heat barrier, and is ignorant to the direction the heat is diffusing.

Hmmm i will most likely just go without it for now, I do have some left over stick on heat wrap so I will just put that on for now. Eventually I want to go with the excessive LIM so I will just get it then.
