Whats the point? It doesn't even have any vents. Looks like a waste of money to me.

Get one with vents to aid in dropping the engine temps...IMO KS hood looks nice..that or the feed.

carbon fiber is 1000% for looks maybe a little bit of weight taken off but the point was made that it is not worth the money for the "minor" weight lose. you may as well put your *** on a 15 lbs diet. also the only other real worth is if the hood has vents my hood releases soooo much heat it IS good for that!

I wouldn't buy **** from importfan. I bought a wide body from them for my 95 240sx and they kept feeding me bs about them waiting to get the kit from japan. Didn't get it till 8 months later. I also ordered it with a hood that was an option with the kit that I never got and was later told the price I paid was only for the kit. Come to find out, the reason it took so long to get my damn body kit was because they took it out of the original box and laid it out on the floor to snap some pictures of so they could put it on their website. After showing them the reciept I had saying it included the hood, they said the sales rep. lied to me and they fired him although his voicemail is still set up. In the end I would have spent more money trying to go after them then what it was worth.

coming from that site it isnt even 100% cf I bet

The real cf hoods that will save weight are more then you want to spend :X and even then it isnt worth the price

IIRC the stock aluminum hood weighs 23lbs. I don't think any of the CF hoods are lighter than that over 1-2lbs.

I'd question the weight savings.

yeah the only reason importfan is "cheap" is because the shipping is so high! i looked at getting some fenders from them before i bought my border fenders from chuck (rotaryextreme) the fenders @ importfan cost $159 and when i called to order them they wanted $200 to ship the fenders to me wtf?!?!!?!? i said the shipping cost more then the damnmed fenders.

and thats my 2 cents . - Jason

The stock aluminum hood weighs about 18 lbs., not 26.5, so you'd save about 4 lbs.

It has long been known that carbon fiber is pretty much a waste of money where replacing the stock hood is concerned. The only significant benefit comes from adding vents to help dissipate heat.

I think he was referring to the "GT.1" part, but I could be wrong. After all, anyone who claimed to have an RX-8 6-speed in one thread and a 20B in another might be making up having the car as well...

My stock hood weighed in at 23lbs, good memory on that. My Rotary Extreme N1 hood weighed in at 14lbs, making a 9lb difference. I was more concerned with cooling, but I was happy to take the weight difference.

Didn't know there was ever a "GT.1" trim line or model. Now post pics of your 20B and RX-8 tranny.
