License plate?
I live in TX too, but I ve had a front plate holder on it sence I've had the car. I guess to say I am just to woried it would be my luck I would get a ticket for it. Normaly they probaly wont mess wtih you much on that bc it's a bs law as yall know. The flip trick would work but most of the toll ways and all here take a pic of your rear plates.

Yeah I never have run a front plate on ANY car in 15 years of living in my state.... not one problem yet!
I do keep the extra plate under the spare tire with a couple zip ties though.... If I am at a car meet and the cops "bust" it and start handing out "no front plate" tickets, I can quickly zip tie it on and drive past them and be legal.

Los Angeles cops are giving out front plate ticket like crazy. Three of my friends got one in the past couple months, and I just got one over the weekend. I asked the cop why are they giving out so many front plate ticket, the cop told me because of all the outstanding ticket from the camera, and they have no trace of the vehicle to its owner. I got my ticket at Venice beach, the cops just standing in line and waiting for cars without front plate. . . .

I'm not following which part you don't think will hold up...
The defense that the cop was able to read the plates to write it on the ticket was used successfully to beat the ticket in court before.

The point is there is a big difference between not being able to read a plate at 20 yards and not being able to read a plate when your 5 feet behind the car. Being able to read a plate at 5 feet does not mean that it is not obscure.

The defense that the law doesn't state the tags could be obscured from an angle, yet still legible etc also held up in court..

Yet I believe the specific wording of VA's laws was specifically chosen I believe to not allows such excuses to fly in VA. They say tags can't be obscured in any way, shape or form. That's why those plate covers are illegal to use in VA.

Picked up a ticket for 50 in a 35mph zone (following behind a buick in the mountains outside Middle of Nowhere, CA
). Cops were radaring from the top of a hill, looking down at the car. Cop didn't even mention the lack of front plates.
I guess it's just luck of the draw. I live in the SF Bay Area, and got the ticket in Milpitas. (info is wrong.)
