Legendary 6 speed transmission
the transmission with the clutch and flywheel is one of the most important components on the car. it is the unit that controls the power driven to the engine and that provides the speed at that certain gear at that certain time. And one of the most coolest things to have is a six speed in the car. Now i know that the rx-8 transmission is the same as the one in the Miata( i think?) so that one is out of the picture, however. I have went through the search and haved seen threads of this legendary six speed transmission. I think some company that starts with HEa or it might be HKS but the Re amemiya GT300 in the JGTC has a six speed transmission that they use with the 13b and have seen one for sale from japan on ebay once. If anybody has any information let me know. THe one that starts with HEA is for $8000 USD and the one i saw on ebay was for $3000 but if i find out more i will inform everyone how to get it . Personally i think that would be sweet for a rx7 to have a six speed that can handle enough power. Please no bad comments
if you have the money then here you go..your 6 speed tranny

The hewland 6 speed is the sequential where you dont have to use the clutch except when you turn on the car. You shift foward to go down and back to shift up. With a shifter like that you can cut your quarter mile time almost in half.
But check this out www.importfan.com 1888-399-aero has a sequential shifter that will fit any transmission on any car for any application its basically a bolt on to your transmission the only problem i have seen with this is that the shifter stick sits about an inch or 2 higher
the reason why i brought this thread up is cause i would THINK you could get faster acceleration and more top speed out of the car since there is one more gear.

Evos until the Evo 8, the WRX, old M3s, and old 3 litre NSXs are just a few cars that don't have 6 speeds. Six speeds are mainly just used to have another fuel economy gear up top in production cars. That and they make people think the car is more sporty.
Yes, it's always nice to have more gears, but I don't miss the 6th gear on my FD.

even if you dont miss it dont you think it would be a great idea to have another gear just in case maybe? but what about the sequential shifter. its only $1700 and your shifts will be smooth and incredibly quick

"and for your information, a six speed rx8 transmission did fit. and i got pictures to prove it."

Just for that little extra entertainment:

Anyhow, this thread has gone south quick. So there is no need to keep it open any further. Dark, there are many options for the transmission. They are either very expensive to have the luxury to just bolt straight in, or fairly decent in price and then expensive to have to fabricate additional parts to make it work. Do a search on transmissions, and you can find quite a bit of information regarding gear ratios, direct swaps, conversions, etc.
