Exclamation leaking oil...

well, i dont really know what happened. i went to take my car for a drive, and about 1/4 mile down the road my oil light pops on. wierd...the unit never really seemed to work right, but i figured i better not risk it. so i turn back and come home, with the gauge sitting on 0 and bouncing up about 1/4 of an inch the whole way home. i get it into the garage, and check my oil....none on the stick, so i fill it up and the car smells like oil big time. i look under it, and it looks like from my oil cooler back on the driver side is covered in oil. should i be worried about anything? or as long as i find and fix the leak and fill it with oil it will be alright? my temps seemed to be fine, the fans never came on (untill i tuned them on manually).

Don't EVER use any fixit in a bottle. Have it towed to a shop, don't even start it, or you will end up buying a motor @ 5000.00.

Then find the leak and repair it or have it towed somewhere to someone who can find it and fix it. If you run the car without oil due to a leak the engine will be ruined.

No oil on the stick means not enough to run the motor...

fixit in a bottle= bars leak fix etc. Not good.

except he's talking about oil, not coolant

find the leak, fix it right, and be on your way.

How much oil did you have to add to get it back to normal?

Oh, and the reason I was questioning 'fixit in a bottle' is that this was never mentioned in his original post... I'm not sure where this came from.
