leaking coolant

i know the problem is with my thermostat, i took the car apart. my question is how much does a thermostat cost and where can i get one for my 94 rx7? the car is only driven in the spring and summer, hardly in the fall and diffenetly not in the winter. isn't there a specific thermostat for warm/hot weather?

thanx luigi

Talking

you can get a thermostat for your car at the local liquor store, circle k, also try your bank, and don't forget to check the corner bait shop. these thermostats are found in practically every place you have ever been to, even pizza hut and taco bell. when you go to the bait shop make sure you tell them you have a 13b twin turbo rx-7 or they might confuse it with some kind of lure.

i would definitely not try mazdatrix.com or calling the nearest mazda dealer they know virtually nothing about rx-7s. it is obvious that your parents did all your school science projects for you.

okay, i don't know if that was all that informative. i am no car expert/mechanic and i do understand that thermostats are found and used in alot of places. i figure since everyone is sensitive about there cars that there might be a recommendation for a thermostat to use or purchase. i do plan on doing the work myself for the simple fact that i brought the car because i like a challenge. i was hoping that my car would give me more problems than mentioned on a lot of warnings about purchasing an rx7, but it hasn't. i am thankful for this but again i wanted a challenge. i'm burnig my money the way want to.

as far as the comments made above i felt a little offended. the only way to handel immaturity is with immaturity, i hope both your cars blow up. thats if you meant to be offensive.

thanx again luigi

you can just get one from a mazda dealer. some people woke up on the wrong side of the crib this morning. if not you can call. www.pettitracing.com to get one if you want to. you might want to get an upgraded AST if you don't have one already.

Dude, sorry you took offense to what Jason said and my agreement, but just look at they way he executed it. Very classic, and original.

I am sorry though. It was all in fun, and I don't want my car to blow up, nor yours.

Your local mazda dealer will have this item for you either in stock or on a one to two day turn around. You will need to pay for it in advance though.

Always ask for a better price. Usually the parts guys are cool, and will cut you a break if your cool to them.

I agree that you should upgrade your AST, (Air Separation Tank) and that the pettit AST aluminum can is good option, though I think its overpriced for the quality. I am used to nice billet parts that have been CNC milled for that price, but it is still cheaper than a new motor.
