Leading coil not firing, not coil or igniter

The leading coil on my FD is not firing. I've replaced the coil with another and then had them both tested and they were fine. I swapped out the igniter with another (known good) and i'm still not getting spark.

I noticed that the igniter I used was a little different than the one on the car, my car is a 93 and the igniter is from a 94. They have the same plug and numbers on them but they are a little different looking. Are they interchangable?

I guess i'm going to search for broken or frayed wires, but in the meantime does anyone have any suggestion on what could be causing my leading plugs not to fire?

I have an HKS Twin power and a Haltech E6k.

i had the EXACT SAME problem 1 week ago. replaced coil, and it wasn't that either. but i did change the spark plugs and now eveyrthing is back in order. you might also want to change spark wires.

Yes for tach and for trailing, the car runs very smoothly on just the trailing plugs...

The plugs are brand new and the plug wires are about 4 months old and they are working fine when i hook them up to the trailing coil.

so you have verified that there is no spark coming off the leading wires? the next step would be to check for power on the leading coil harness side. then ground. you will need a GOOD test light. high impedence. the power should be steady and the ground side shoud pulse. have you looked at the harness? any chance you can swap ecu?

I thought it was a good idea to follow up for people that are searching in the future.
