Putting a Koyo in your FD is about as smart as putting a jimmy on when visiting Miss Mary Jane Rotten Crotch! ... maybe smarter!

Thumbs down "search" Is Your Friend!

Tenaz / Bnaicker,

This topic has been covered many times! Just "search" using either koyo, install, radiator, etc. and you will find all you need to know.

You will find tons of info. Here is a short thread about some koyo install issues.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...=KOYO+RADIATOR

Just vary your search parameters and you will find lots of info. Don't just ask "what if" or "how about this" all the time!!

Thumbs up

It's not exactly a drop-in replacement since it's 2" thick.

You can put it in the stock location, but certain pieces - such as the stock IC duct - above the Koyo won't fit exactly as they did with the stock 1" core.

You can easily modify the mounting points to not only have the Koyo sit a little lower in the stock location but also to allow everything to fit back in its normal place.

The Koyo made a big difference in my car. My heater used to blow very HOT when I had the stock radiator, and the car would get anemic in uphill stop-and-go traffic. I installed the Koyo, and my heater became a joke, bearly heating anything, even on full blast.

Someone with 14000+ posts in the link below said the stock rad is the way to go [for street driving] ...

I think that's weird.

Anyone who has actually installed the Koyo in their car would most likely tell you the results are *p r e t t y dramatic* to say the least.

The link below may be useful *before* you bolt up the Koyo and refill the coolant only to find the rest of your stuff won't fit back in place.

Hopefully the pics helpful. post #16.

both the koyo and fluidine are very good radiators and an upgrade nearly every rx7 should have at some point. Fluidine fits a little better, but if you found a good deal on a koyo then that will work just as well.
