Knock sensor question
There is a lot of discussion about "reliability mods" for the FD
I haven't seen much talk on the knock sensor so I don't know what to think of it. Yes I have an aftermarket intercooler, downpipe, radiator, ast delete and other things like that but what about the stock knock sensor?
Is the stock knock sensor really that bad? Should I suck it up and get that expensive Safeguard one? Is it worth it? I am not running anymore power than a stock FD.

the stock knock sensor works fine. while chasing a knock issue i had occasion to swap 4 of them. they all read the same...
the J&S Knock Sensor/Timing retard is a whole 'nuther thing. i run the latest model. when you are in boost (only) it has the capability of retarding the lead timing 10 degrees if it detects knock.
unlike the stock sensor it is an "active" device.
given your setup, i'd say you are fine w what you have.

Are there any similar systems that will retard both leading and traling?
