I just got mine installed yesterday...man it sounds great with the RB duals! Also I can stand behind the car and not choke on the fumes!!!!

I am only a couple hundred miles on my breakin for the new engine so I can't describe any performance gains. However I did pass emissions with my old cat yesterday. I plan to do another emissions check with the hi-flow on here in the next week and will post comparisions. That way the only thing that has changed on my car is some additional miles and the hi-flow cat.

BTW, how many miles do you think I have to drive to kinda "break-in" the cat?

Zero? more than 50 miles???

You'll pass smog problem with these cats and also there is no difference in noise with these fitted at idle or cruising only at wot and eveb then it's only a slight increase. The only possible cuase for concern is that the cat part is so small that I am sure with a modded rx7 that's running rich as most do, I suspect it won't last that long.

Should it not last longer due to the material being used, metal (metalic) vs. ceramic (old/current ones)?

id say after 50 it probably will be working just fine. mine was working perfectly 1 minute after the initial starup with it... just clean hot air. i am happy! now to pull hte turbos and port the WG (just to be safe). it sounds great to me... not much difference with no throttle, but it has a deeper drone if you give it some throttle, and even more tone at WOT. so far i like it. when the 3 rotor is done ill get another one for that car.

ha ha...I agree with you 7racer

Brian, with my RB catback and KS cat I have a nice increase at idle and cruise and at wot it roars! I remember the first day I installed it, I was a bit nervous my nabor would complain. Cranking it up in the mornings before work and I know he's not happy about it.... but it's not as loud as a midpipe thats for sure. I guess my nabor is lucky..haha

Wondering if someone could post update on thie unit.

I have one from Supercell (came w/his car) and wondering if I should put it on or sell it.

Its brandnew. I was going to put a straight midpipe or resonated midpipe, since I don't have emission.

I'm worried about sound. I like the sound of the car right now.. nice and quiet!

I liked the sound. I switched the stock cat out and put on the KS with an exisiting RB dual.

It has a nice sound to it but not loud at all. Van Sema was in the car and you might want to shoot him a PM to see what he thinks.

I have since mothballed the car to do some more work so, sorry, nothing really new to report.

Any new updates on the Metallit cat? Curious to see how it is going now. BTW...have you tested it at a smog station just to possibly see if it does reduce emissions better?

Thumbs up Finally got around to getting this bad boy smogged

Ok, well here is my personal update on the knightsports metalit cat. so having great luck as i normally do, i got a "smog only station" this year. for those of you that are not from CA and dont have to deal with the smog *****, this is basically a shop that does nothing but smogs... and therefore are hard asses and very thorough. they had mirrors out looking under my car, and were poking around the engine compartment for quite some time. i have a wrapped downpipe, and thought they were going to fail me on visual but they let the DP slide, and didnt ask for a CARB certificate the cat.

so they ran it on the dyno, and it passed. (sorry i dont have my old smog check to compare to with my stock cat... wish i did. if i find it ill post it). anyway, here are my test results:

Test--------RPM----%CO2----%O2----HC(PPM)------CO%---NO(PPM)
15mph----1889-----14.3------0.7--------28-----------0.14-------72
25mpg----2097-----14.1------0.7--------24-----------0.21-------60

(FYI, my car is stock besides a DP, metalit cat, cat back, ... and i DO still have my airpump hooked up to the new cat). let me know how my numbers compare to yours, and what type of cat you are using. -heath
