Larry at The RaceShop makes a more expensive but much higher quality bar with incredible fitment. There should still be an older group buy thread with the info.

Hey bro I think he is sold out and retired. I would buy the raceshop bar on the spot if I could find one. I fumbled on the GB.

Actually, I'm not sure if Larry is making them anymore. He made that one run for the GB and I thought he said he was done. Kirk is still in business as I had email correspondence with one of their employees about a week ago.

When I get home from work, I'll get the email address and post it.

Hey thanks man. Is Kirk racing who you would recommend going with for a track day only car? The car will not be on the street and prob wont be raced in competition. Just track days and auto x's.

Thx

Well, aside from a Raceshop bar or a custom professional weld-in bar, yep the Kirk Racing is the best choice IMO. I've seen some of the others like Cusco and Autopower and I wouldn't put my life in their hands.

I have the Kirk Racing 4pt rollbar, but have yet to get it installed.

Cool I will most likely go that route. I have trust issues leaving my car with anyone or I would prob do the custom job. Seems like the kirk bar is the best option. I agree on the Cusco and Autopower (although the Cusco looks sweet).

Just FYI, the Kirk Rollbar is heavy. So if you are weight savings ****, then you might have a problem with it.

Nah I got to much HP as it is. Picked up a 400hp+ 7 for my track day car. Having trouble getting used to the power/single turbo. I prefer my twins at 333 in my street 7 but I couldnt pass up the deal!

The Kirk is a safe and decently made bar, it just has compromises that I wasn't willing to make for a track/street car. It is also very heavy (90 lbs IIRC), the RaceShop bar (made of chromoly instead of mild steel) is less than 40 lbs with all the options.

Larry may have a bar left over or something....I would give him a try first.

I have the Kirk 4 point in my car. I think it weighs about 70 lbs or so.

My only comments are:

1) I got the version that goes behind the seats rather than the version which mounts in the bins. If i was any taller, this would have been a BAD idea. At 5'11'', I barely barely have enough foot room now due to seat travel issues. As it stands, it's OK, but one more notch of seat travel would be nice.

2) to mount the backing plates, you sort of have to bang your fenderwells flat on that spot. I guess all bars would have problems mounting to this spot, so it isn't really a huge "Kirk problem"... Just a commentary... be prepared to whack your baby!

I have a basic M2 bar I'd sell for 700 plus shipping.

It comes with the rear strut/harness bar, main hoop and cross bar that runs between the main hoop.

Thanks,
Fritz
