Puma--because real racers KNOW that subwoofer magnets and power amplifiers ADD WEIGHT, and added weight makes you SLOWER than the guy without all the superfluous electronics.

ok so you are either a racer or a ricer... hmm it's a way of seeing it...
Oh and i suppose this means that you don't have an interior anymore, no A/C, no PS, everything is out of the car?
If not, and you added door sill plates or a stock R1 lip, does that make you a ricer?

by the way, i don't want to start a war here, just think that comments like that are a little sad and i really didn't see the point unless it was an attack.
I am pretty sure that no FD owner likes to be call a ricer, mostly when it means that you are as equal as a sticker/neon/big wing/civic DX.
that being said, sorry for getting in the discussion for no good reason to help the post.

puma, No I still have all the stuff my R1 came with. The mods I add are for performance's sake...I draw the line at subwoofers Besides my Trust catback is so messed up, that I can't hear the music anymore, I wear earplugs INSIDE THE CAR WHILE DRIVING!

It wasn't an attack...I just found the juxtaposition of a rollover bar with power amplifiers and a 15-inch sub somewhat odd, if not mutually exclusive!
IMO, you're either either a racer, or a ricer...to me a ricer is just someone with a sport compact car with a pretense of racing, but has never been or has no plans to race. They just want to LOOK "racey"... Get it?
OTOH, a "racer" understands what it takes to be fast...that includes being sensitive to weight, improving the "nut" behind the wheel (by attending high speed drivers education courses), and adding modifications that actually ADD performance in addition to enhancing the car's aesthetics...
AND LET'S GET THIS CLARIFIED...A TRACK HAS TURNS, A STRIP IS 1320-FT of straight. If you're strictly a drag racer, refer to your track as the "drag strip"...only road racers and oval racers, have the privelage of using the term "track", as they actually have to turn the car at speed, not just upshift to 4th gear in a straight line!

ok ok.. chill guys.. lol
I was really thinking of getting the kirk roll cage, but I just don't like how it mounts insided the tool and jack bins. I think the kirk cage is really nice, but I want something that bolts on the shock towers. I've been asking for pics of anyone w/ the M2 Roll Cage in their FDs, but for about a year now I haven't seen any but on M2s site. hmm lemme search.. maybe I missed it..

The M2 rollover bar is your best bet...a bit expensive compared with the Kirk, but...aesthetically the M2 is the best option available for the FD...
After looking at the rollover pics of the FD, I think a Kirk 6-point full cage would be the best bet. Notice how the A-piller portion of the roof collapsed on the rolled-over FD!!
The Kirk 6-point cage is 110 lbs. But it would be the safest way to go, and the chassis stiffening effect might make up for the added ballast...
I'd recommend having the Kirk 6-pt cage WELDED in rather than bolted in...The welds make a much more intimate connection with the chassis, for both safety and performance improvements over bolt-in connections...

If you purchase a rollbar based solely on aesthetics, then I think that makes you a bit of a ricer. Do you also purchase driving lights based on how they look on the front of the car, rather than how well they light up the road? :-)
