just to add a few things, when you say you were tuning it for street gas, you do mean 91 octane right? (thats our street gas octane level).

and be prepared for INSANE heat, usually the track that they race on is about 110 degres. im sure you already know this, but im just making sure.

and if you tell me the time/day that youll be doing the courses im sure i could go down and get a vid or some pics of it for the people who dont want to wait for the DVD or Mag to come out.

I hate to think negatively but I wouldn't do like you were saying and have it tuned in for 18 or 19 psi on pump gas and then take race gas and turn the boost up. That's the last thing we need if you do it and limp off the dyno and miss the rest of the event. I know Steve's good but I just have a bad feeling about it.

Andrew is not driving the car in the road course competition just for that reason. He found a "secret driver" that really knows his road course stuff.
My vote still goes to the FD, but that Miata would be a fun car to have as well.

no, we plan to bring the race gas with us to the event and tune it there before the dyno. We don't expect to just put race gas and turn up the boost. I know better than that :-D

I tuned the car to 18-19psi on 93 octane but with the water injection, I should be okay with that boost level on 91 octane. The only time that I'll be running that much boost is on the drag strip and also the dyno. Road course will most likely be in the 10-12psi range.

Please post the exact locations and dates if possible. I'm sure there are plenty of SoCal fans who would love to go and root for you.

whew, glad to hear Steve, it just sounded like you were going to just show up on the dyno and turn it up. You can see that mentality on a dyno day where a person turns the boost up just to make more hp than someone and boom. Just make sure the water tank stays full

Wow, that looks sweet. As a fan of SCC, I have been waiting to see a FD in the USCC for years. Is the scoring going to be set up the same as last year? Where are you hoping to score most of your points?

Why the repaint? It looked perfect a few months ago.

At any rate, it looks fantastic. Best of luck to you.

jason is too picky and wanted to have a perfect paint for the car show. the paint he had was about 4 yrs old. He figured if anything, the new paint will at least gain some points so he decided to do it at the last minute. We're still in the middle of wet sanding it. We polished the wheels and engine bay area. The water injection is almost done with the exception of a few wires. Still trying to figure out the best place for the water reservior. The car definately don't look as bling bling as Art's bling mobile but at least it should gain some points. We plan to leave Dallas around 5pm tomorrow and hope to be in Los Angelas around 10am on wednesday. We tried not to post any pictures of this car until now because other competitors were wondering about us and what we have in the car. We didn't want them to know about us since we already seen pictures of other competitors already. Pictures will come tomorrow after we're done with it.

We're hoping to do our best in what the car was designed to do (road course). I think we should do descent in the drag strip but only time will tell. I think the new paint job should get some attention along with the Guru judgement. We will find out soon enough. I think our worst will be emission, driveability and grandma test but we plan to switch our seats there after the car show.

For the emissions test I definately think you should run an electric exhaust cut out paired with a brand new factory cat.

I know you guys like the way the car looks stock, but you might want to add some minor touches for the show part of the testing. I think even minor details are important, you might want to add a CF lip, some different lights, etc. You have to consider the car that won last year was a little more show then go.

Little too late for that, We had plans for it from the beginning but funds and problems we ran into prohibit us from doing it. Oh well, we'll score low in this catagory for sure. :-/

Good luck guys, hopefully everything goes smooth. And perhaps you'll gain points for having such a smooth and clean look.

Alright guys, we're ready to leave and here're the pics I took at the last minute when the car was on the lift. We had to fix an oil leak that was coming from the oil pan and oil pressure sending unit so I figured I would take some under car pictures as well.
