Keyless Entry Install
Keyless Entry Install
If anyone has ever installed keyless entry on their FD3S, please let me know how. I've gone to numerous professional installers who don't have a clue how to put it on. Also, I need to know the closest rotary service center to Evansville, IN. I think there's one in Louisville, KY but I don't know the name and phone #. Thanks

be careful when you do this. many people in the forum will tell you that you will break the lock kinkage if you do not do it correctly. i believe spyfish007 is the best one that can explain what i'm talking about. good luck
My car has keyless entry. One of these days I will post pics of the actuator and it's hookup. Basically the actuator is just below the release mechanism. A push/pull rod in the shape of a z goes from the actuator, around the factory release cable, and connects to a hole drilled in the lock switch just behind the stock cable. The push/pull rod on the actuator is stiff; it's not a cable.
Works beautifully but the actuator BARELY fits behind the door panel. It is an Audiovox actuator and is the rack and pinion type, not a solenoid.
I know this makes no since without a pic; when my car gets back from the bodyshop I will take some pics.
