Unhappy Key Stuck in Ignition!

When i pulled my car into my driveway the other day i tried to remove my key, but i got stuck in the ACC position. The key does turn in the opposite direction and it does start the car, but it doesn't want to go into the lock position and and come out. I was gunna remove the ignition barrel and take it apart and see what the problem is, but i was just wondering if this is a common problem for these cars and if anyone else had experienced this problem before and knows more about it.

Thanks

WD-40 is not a lubricant, it's a cleaner and a penetrant. To lubricate a lock, you want something like dry graphite lube.

Try turning the wheel a bit and then turn the key again. Also, try moving your gear shift lever and then put it back into neutral.

Another thing to be careful of is a broken key. The FD keys are very long and have a tendency to crack up near the head. I found you can use a 2nd gen key blank and have it cut for your key. The FC shafts are shorter but they are otherwise the same.

I have tried everything you guys have said and still nothing, it won't even budge I think it might be one of my tumblers, it might have popped or something so i decided to remove the ignition barrel and take it to a locksmith and see what he could do. I really dont want to buy a whole new ignition barrel!!

Alright i just got my ignition barrel back from the locksmith, apparently a piece of my key broke off while it was inside the ignition but he was able to remove the key and he even cut me a new one . When i was there i also asked him what he recommends to lubricate the locks, he told me about this product called "Lock Shot", he said thats what he uses himself
