Key-in-ignition switch broken. How to fix?
Whatever the cause, my FD always thinks the key is in the ignition. This means that opening the door causes the car to beep constantly even when the key is out (i posted previously about this) but worse, the little orange ignition key light on the steering column never turns off and if I let the car sit for more than a couple days without driving it the battery will die. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!

I believe the light on the steering column comes on when you lift the drivers door handle (much like the light in the key hole on the exterior of the door) check your electrical wiring diagram and see if it's not controlled by the security or if theres a module for the door lock controls and perhaps something that triggers the door lock and key lock lights.
