Naaaaah. No harm, no foul. If he has confidence those plates will work long term, then more power to him. I've been messing with these port sizes, materials, and ... well, other aspects of these plates, for a while now. I happen to know that that my plates only restrict as much as necessary, and if the one you've placed in your pipe is not enough, use the next smaller ... or vice versa.

I would like to see a picture of the plates. I don't mind paying more for a well engineered product and it sure would be nice to get rid of that cat.

AzureDrake - Can you post a picture of the plates I sent you (if you haven't installed them yet)? I don't have a digi-cam, and it would be more believable from you anyway.

Here ya go. These are the largest, and smallest sizes. . . the middle one is lodged in the exhaust!
There's a quarter for reference, plus my 7 key and keychain.

JyRO (and everyone else)....I installed my restrictor plate and drove the car for the first time today.....all I can say is: WOW! Thanks a lot for creating these simple, do-it-yourself fix for boost creep!
Sure, there are definitely other more efficient, more expensive ways about preventing boost creep, but for such little cost & such little work needed to do it (it's nice not needing to go to my mechanic for some things), you can't beat it!
The largest plate worked well for me...First try and no creep! I'm gonna take a nice long drive tonight on the highway and go WOT a few times to see if I get any creep at higher speeds. I'll post later to let you know if I ended up going down a size or staying with the largest size.
Thanks again JyRO....awesome service, awesome quality product, & awesome results!

advanced auto or autozone maybe. If not try going to a local place that does exhaust work like Midas or something. they carry alot of bulk **** like 10 foot pieces of pipe and gaskets and sometimes also flanges. I used to work at one and there were flanges. Just ask if you can buy a 2.5" 2 bolt flange from them. But you should be able to get them at any auto parts store..

DMoney has been asking me about gaskets (same as he has on here) but I don't have any. I wonder if it might be worth me sourcing some and sending it with the plates.
What do you guys think / recommend?

JyRO.....I did some R&D last night on the highway, & unfortunately I did get some creep at close to redline....I'll try the next size down later today & take it for a spin tonight, then let you know how it goes. I imagine that since I got very little creep with the largest size, I should hopefully eliminate it all with the next size down.
Will update soon,
Ian
As far as the gaskets go, If you can source them and make a few bucks.....I say do it! I got my gaskets from rx7store.net and they're definitely a little pricey.

Ian - I would bet the next smaller size will completely eliminate the creep ... even though it's just barely smaller. I'll check on gaskets. I'm not really concerned with making money on them, I just wonder if it something that would complete the package a little better or if gaskets are not needed because most have a gasket already and it can be re-used.

I put my midpipe in with no problems. Did it without any extra hands. I'm not going to boost it until I get my plates in. I did start it up and revved it up. Wow its loud as hell. I like it though. I think it fits the car more now. With the Blitz Nur Spec it sounds very throaty. The mp is straight without a resonator or anything. For $60 all fitment was good, no rubbing issues. Sorry but I'm really excited

Well I just got back from driving after I installed the mp. All I have to say is wow. That is awesome and what a difference in boost response. I made sure I didn't floor it. But I was testing it out in 4th gear and at 69% Duty Cycle I crept to + .78 on the PFC. I'm tuned to handle about 11-12 psi. So no more of that testing until I get my plates in here in a few days. I can't wait to go redline with that boost response and this new found power!!!!!

DMoney - Your plates should be there tomorrow (3/10). Worst case Monday (3/12). You'll get to play with ALL that new power with no worry about creep. Start with the biggest port. Good luck!
