I can tell you, but you'll have to sign a proprietary information form first.

this all sounds a bit crazy considering the huge problems boost creep can cause and its all solved by a small plate between the downpipe and the midpipe?? i was previously considering NOT decatting my car because of the issues with boost creep and i didnt have a shed load of cash to port my wastegates, so i just binned the decat idea unless i went single.....but now.........

how much for the plates and will u post to the uk? im just finding out. i need to by a decat/mid pipe first

PM sent. Interested in your plates.

I was reading throught the previous posts and was wonding some things.

Ok, I am going to give you some back round on my fd.

I am running a stock ecu with blitz intake, pettit dp, rb catback, and stock primary cat. I have a hallman boost controller, but still have hit fuel cut once and never want to do it again.

My question is if I replace my stock cat with a straight through mp and add one of the plates will I have a problem with boost creep? How many of you who have sucess with this product is running a full exhaust, intake and stock ecu? WHo is running a similar setup like mine with full exhaust and intalled the plate............and still have no problem with creep?

thanks,.
-josh

ABC plates ... not bad. However, I will have to reject your proposal. ABC is not self explanatory. Continuously writing out "Anti Boost Creep Plates" is going to get old. Basically, your request is rejected due to marketability.

I've just been calling them, "Restrictor Plates." Its more explanatory. And, plates (plural) clarifies that you will get more than one.

It may sound crazy, but it works. And is a lot less money and elbow grease than porting the wastegate.

I charge $80 for the set of 3 plates, and that includes shipping. But with you being in the U.K., I will have to have an increase to cover the shipping. The additional, I don't know.

Tell me your shipping address and I'll find out how much it would cost to ship them and let you know.

I am now down to one set of plates. Once they're gone I will not make another batch of them unless someone orders at least one set. Turn around time ... approximately 2 to 3 weeks on the new batch. Turn around time on the last set ... 1 day.

If anyone's wondering about flow issues- compare the guts of a catalytic converter:

to for example.... a 2.25 in open diaphragm like these restrictor plates.

I think this comes down to just enough but not too much.

so if i get one of these plates i can run a midpipe?
i saw a plate for the exhaust that lookied like one of thouse cas saver intake tornadow things , in the fd3s hyper rev book and im guessing that is its purpose to run a midpipe without boost creep. so maybe making one that has like 4 blade things in a gasket type deal would be efficent as well? could you make a plate like that ?
its on page 93 of rx7 no. 5 hyper rev vol 91 , and its made by A-RF

found out a new way without having to buy/make restrictor plates

simply purchase a universal 2 hole exhaust flange for a 2.25 diameter exhaust car and bolt it in...its thicker than a restrictor plate and works the same i bought mine for $8 of ebay

a universal 2 hole exhaust flange
the only trouble is depending on the size of your pipe it might not seal.

I'm not getting the reply emails I used to get. So I haven't seen some of these replies until now.

Not only will you have sealing problems, but I question the material.

BUT, BY FAR the bigger issue is, you will have WAY more restriction than you need with that restrictor plate. Which is exactly why I make 3 plates for you guys. Without going into details, that 2.25 in diameter exhaust flange will probably have as much or more restriction as a free flow cat.

It'll get the job done (at least for a while, depending on the material), but I believe you're going to lose considerable power (considerable being, you will definitely notice it by seat of the pants feel). Plus if you're blowing exhaust out that joint, its probably letting cool air in too, which leads to popping / crackling in the exhaust ... which sounds low quality IMHO.

Do what you want though, its your FD's!

AzureDrake received his plates, I checked with him. But I don't think he has installed them yet, and I suspect that's why he hasn't commented on his outcome.

Later guys.

i have no sealing issues at all...gasket on each side works perfect....ive been under the car when its started no exhaust leak...perfect amount of restriction with 2.25 as well

i ordered a 2.5inch flange and 2.25...the 2.5 was way to much creep so i went down to the 2.25 works perfect life is good cost me 8 bucks!
