Just starting off with an FD

I have had my 93 FD since for about 8 months and with me being just turned 18 i didnt really have any money. but now that i have my tax return check and graduation is comming up in about a month or so i really want to get some mods done to my car. The problem is i really dont know were to start, do i get exhaust or intake, or ect... Im not sure were to start out. I plan to change it to a single turbo but that will have to wait. so i want to get parts that i can use on both a twin and a single turbo. My car is bone stock. No mods done. So if you guys could just help me out with a few parts that would be good to get and that would work on both a single and TT

I was looking at getting the HKS carbonfiber exhaust but not sure if that is the wright way to go.
Any advice would be greatly needed

downpipe, aluminum AST, aluminum radiator, full fluid flush, new fuel filter, and save the rest for when stuff breaks.

if you really want to do some mods to get yourself more power:
PFC (or equivalent stand-alone computer)
boost controller
intake
cb
simplified sequental/non-sequential (more of a relibility mod because you reduce/eliminate the rats nest)
hf cat/mp

if you do mod your car, expect to break/wear stuff out faster, and use more gas, so since you're graduating and probably going to college in the fall, i'd suggest just doing the ones in the first paragraph and leave your car alone until you get a stable job and a steady cash flow

Did it occur to you that with 500,000+ posts on this forum that this topic may - just may - have been covered already?

You can't decide whether to get a intake, exhaust, or single turbo?

First, read everything here: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/

Especially this link: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...threadid=27094

I suggest you get quite serious about your intentions or you will face a lot of s**t here, but more importantly, wasted money or a blown car. It's possible that you have received bad advice before - what is linked in that newbie thread has been screened by some very experienced folks.

Dave

Focus on reliability mods. Save your money until you can do some real modding.

If you dont have money, get a downpipe and focus on maintenance. Save the rest for when something big breaks.
