Are JDM cosmo turbos interchangeable with FD??

Okay here is my question.
Can the JDM Cosmo Twin turbos be swapped with some FD twin turbos.
We have an FD here with leaking Turbos and I have a set of good, low mileage JDM Cosmo turbos with the cosmo manifold.
Can I pu the Cosmo twins on the FD???
Thanx

The cosmo turbos are smaller.

But they may bolt onto the exhaust side of the block. The trouble is that the intake and cross-over pipe look very different, based on the pictures I've seen.

As well, you'll need a manual boost controller since I think it's safe to assume the wg/pc programming for the stock FD turbos won't match the behavior of the Cosmo turbos.

I know the downpipe from the cosmo turbos are different but that won't be a problem.
There is already a manual boost controller on the car.
If the turbos are smaller that's not to much to care about only because a single turbo upgrade is in the near future. Just don't have all the cash for it yet. And it would be pointless to spend money on getting another set of FD twins or rebuilding these.
I am just looking for a quick low cost bolt on.
What about the oil lines??
There is a oil line on the front coever and on the rear plate for the cosmo....is it the same set up on the FD motor??

You can get used FD twins CHEAP - I just saw a set go for $180 or so on Ebay.

I don't see a good reason to go through a lot of work to hack the Cosmo twins on when they're smaller.

If my choices are spending $180 on some twins that are coming off and going to be obsolete in a couple of months or spending some man hours on some Good cosmo twins I already have...............The choice is clear!!
I'm spending time on the cosmos if it's feasable to do so....

Yeah, but you can re-sell the stock twins for pretty much what you bought 'em for.

I think you're looking at a pretty sizeable engineering effort to get the Cosmo twins to work - oil and water lines will have to be fabbed, downpipe will have to be made, IC piping has to be remade, intake piping....that's also a lot of little parts you'll likely be getting from the parts store to make everything work. Then, it's also a crapshoot as to how it will work with the stock sequential control system - you could have out-of-control boost, super low boost, you name it.

Do what you like, but IMHO a bird in the hand is not worth two in the bush in this situation.

I agree i dont think it would be worth it since you would have to fab all that crap and your not gonna make the same power levels. For the price of having those lines made and sell your cosmos you can buy a low mileage set of twins .
