I would say it seems pretty much like a waste of money ofr me.

In fact there was a story here in Thailand that, a girl open her car form a distance with her remote key, then there was a rapist get into the car...

Not if you break keys all the time, which happens to LOTS of FD3S owners.......

Hey, didn't Thailand just change their method of executing people from machine gunning them to lethal injection?? Now there's progress..

I'm a little mistified by the pricing myself. Before Jt imports was advertising it on their site I found it on the japanese mazda webpage as a "dealer installed option." The key was priced at 80usd (using a currency converter) and the entry system was around 280usd total-w all actuators, key, ect.

An aquaintance of mine at the time was able to get it for "less" than that price because he had a dealer account.

So the question is, where is the extra $220+ going? JT seems to have competitive prices on everything else so I don't think he's pocketing it. Any thoughts? I didn't go far enough into the transaction with my friend to discuss the nitty gritty of getting the system to me. Maybe that is where the cost is coming in.

I thought I was the only one braking the key, and the my door handler always in a bad shape. However, I have made a new key already.

BTW I think they change the execution process long time ago, but I don't see people really get execution here, they at most are jail for life.

Forget that do it yourself. Get a keyless system, and then use some fiberglass and take the buttons and the rest of the stuff out of the remote they give you and mold it into the key. I thought about doing this and will eventually.

The RX8 has a nice key design and I believe it has a keyless system. Might be worth checking into.

4 keys broken in 2 years for me. 25 bucks at canadian tire for remote keyless entry. tie it right to the fuse for the door locks, 20 min install. or any $50 car alarm works too? actuators??? all fd's have power door locks.

I've been thinking of fabing a "true keyless" FD. Keyless entry without the key...just a button...then a switch board somewhere like in an airplane; six (or so) military standard, two pole, three way toggle switches. In a certain order...say up, middle, up, down, etc...the car is armed to ACC (through a digital logic decoder), and in another order car is powered to ON...then the push buttom start to crank her up. Probably some sort of F/P relay cut switch that is hidden too. Six, three position two pole toggle switches would give something like 729 different possibilities of ON, so breaking in a guessing would be very unlikely and if you did guess...the F/P relay would be cut. Hell, if you broke in and saw a row of switches (like in a cockpit of a jet) would you really know what it was for...and when you saw it had no ignition for a key???

I also don't just park my car anywhere...and what if someone saw the pattern (passenger), do you think I would give someone a ride in my car, if I thought they were a threat to steal my car???

I think that might be a little overkill, but it would do the job. The only person to ever start your car would definately be you. Or you could just get two switches and hide them away for, fuel and ignition. And as long as they are hidden away well it would help somewhat. But with that setup you would probably have to have a fuel cell. Fun **** though.

actually, the passenger side is power, not the drivers side, that is why you need an actuator

I'm in BKK. Ask your friend if they know the former MDMA team?(the team broke down cos my friends stop racing, they sell 2JZ GTE VVTI Volvo, RB26, and 1JZ cefiro, therefore it left only my Seven as the main car, so we closed down the team) But I havn't heard of sicksecondz tho.

I think with all the work put in to designing it (wiring, truth tables, fabing the decoder with logic gates/muliplexors), it'd be pretty hard to forget. Plus I don't drive the FD to work (well when its really REALLY beautiful out)

(Kind-of like all work put into a hose job...now I can see images of where all the hoses go in my dreams -yuck-)
